Pinnacle Forum Partner, Rodney Cox started Ministry Insights International (www.ministryinsights.com) in 2001 after a successful career as a manager for a major tool supplier. During that time, he had learned the power of behavioral assessments as a way to better screen potential franchise owners. He felt called to apply what he’d learned in the strengths-based movement to assist Christians dealing with personality conflicts and hiring decisions gone awry in the church.
“The mission of Ministry Insights is to transform relationships worldwide,” Rodney explains. “We serve Christian organizations and individuals by helping them discover their God-given strengths, blend their differences with others, and create positive personal, family and ministry relationships.”
Rodney had established a Partnership with Target Training International and together they developed and patented an advanced personality profiling system that’s used in Ministry Insights’ Strengths-Based Profiles. He’s also developed and written other materials, including Leading From Your Strengths, Love and Money, Different By Design, The Discovery Kit and Incredible Creatures Adventure Kit.
Rodney met Pinnacle Forum President Steve Fedyski when they spoke together at a national event. They shared a common passion to transform culture by transforming leaders and Rodney soon became a Pinnacle Forum Partner. He plugged into several events and joined Steve’s Forum. The Partnership is two-way street as Ministry Insights does some training for Pinnacle Forum.
“I can’t make it every time the group meets,” Rodney says, “but I’m in relationship with those men and that keeps me accountable. Pinnacle Forum isn’t just about meetings or Bible studies; it’s about life on life. I like the fact that we’re outwardly focused on changing the culture around us.”
Men can be incredibly lonely, Rodney has found. “The two loneliest places a man can find himself are, one: being apart from God, and, two: not meaningfully contributing to the advancement of His Kingdom. You can be making money and moving up the career ladder but it isn’t satisfying because it doesn’t count for eternity.
“Helping to change that is what our 2:10 Project (www.ministryinsights.com/210-project/) is all about,” Rodney explains. “We help people answer the questions: ‘Why am I here?’ and ‘What does God really want me to do with my life?’ Based on Ephesians 2:10, this process helps you understand who you are—your unique strengths and spiritual gifts—and what you’re made for—your passion and God’s story for your life.
“You can accomplish so much more with your life and relationships if you know the answers to these questions,” Rodney continues. “You can stop chasing things God didn’t give you and learn to trust in what He did and those relationships He’s placed around you. You’ll do far greater things together for the Kingdom than separately.
“It’s not up to governments or corporations to change culture,” Rodney believes. “It’s up to God’s people, starting with the leaders. As they are transformed, God will transform culture through them.”
This is a mission and passion Rodney shares in common with so many other Pinnacle Forum Partners.
