Pinnacle Forum Partner, Tammy Vallejo is the President of E49 (www.e49corp.org), which stands for Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Where two are better than one … and a three cord strand cannot be broken.”
“E49 exists to connect, resource and mobilize civic, business, non-profit, church and community leaders to respond to the critical needs in our region,” Tammy explains.. “We bring organizations together around a cause and help them focus and streamline their efforts. We help provide administration, marketing, resource development and infrastructure so they can succeed in what they do best.”
E49 started in 2009 by building relationships through networks and service projects like Convoy of Hope and Luis Palau’s Season of Service. In 2012, E49 began working on a Faith Based Initiative with Sacramento City Unified School District and in 2013 they were part of the fist collaborative Day of Hope, an event that serves the community by providing food, haircuts, medical/dental services, live entertainment and more.
E49’s social impact initiatives (https://e49corp.org/social-impact/) include:
CITY’S PURPOSE: Bringing sustainable business models to the critical areas of housing and job/business development.
CITY HOPE: Meeting critical needs through our Days of Hope, Hope Centers and Faith Journey programs.
CITY WORSHIP: Helping People worship God through artistic expression and tell the story of what God is doing in our Region.
“We dream of a day when homelessness has an answer,” Tammy says, “when there are no more kids in foster care, when sexual exploitation and broken relationships are replaced with loving, Christ-centered marriages, when racism is overwhelmed by love, and when Christians are seen as part of the answer, not the problem.”
Suite 210
Behind E49 is another set of numbers also inspired by a Bible verse: Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Suite 210 is what Tammy calls “social purpose real estate.”
“We’ve brought more than 50 organizations together in one building—Suite 210,” Tammy adds. “Not just to share workspace but to be ‘on mission’ together through resourcing each other to serve the Sacramento area. The membership income goes back into the community through ministries like E49.
“Suite 210 is how I got involved with Pinnacle Forum,” Tammy goes on to explain. “I drove by the building we now occupy every day taking my kids to school. Then in 2013 I was invited to a Pinnacle Forum kickoff meeting in that very building. I met the building’s owner, a Pinnacle Forum Partner, and heard him say how God had told him to leave the building open. He went on to speak about using it to help the community in ways that sounded exactly like E49. I was bowled over.
“The owner called me later and I shared with him E49’s vision to create a Christ-centered environment that could support efforts to deal with the biggest social challenges in our area. Suite 210 (https://www.facebook.com/Suite210Sacramento) was the result.”
There are no women’s Pinnacle Forum groups in Sacramento but one is due to launch in June. Tammy is looking forward to getting involved. “I’m in a lot of groups but I’m usually one of the few women present. As a woman CEO, I need a core group of women who understand what I’m dealing with and who can help me with issues I can’t discuss with my staff.”
