Partner Lisa Johanon could have walked a different journey, but God gave her the desire and the fortitude to build something transformational through her ministry, Central Detroit Christian. At first, the vision wasn’t something she wanted to take on. But God didn’t let up on prodding her and giving her confirmation to move forward. There is such a high poverty rate in central Detroit as well as numerous needs, that the model Lisa established is providing education, housing, job skills, employment, and much more. A Little About Lisa Johanon
Lisa Johanon is the founder and executive director of Central Detroit Christan CDC, a faith-based non-profit organization located in central Detroit. She has served in that capacity for 28 years and has been a Detroiter for 38 years.
At CDC she supervises a staff of 24 who are empowered to develop and coordinate programs, businesses, and bright ideas in three areas: education, employment, and economic development, and she oversees a $5.5 million dollar budget.
